Video: Natural bridge hidden in southern Roane County, W.Va.

Scenic Roane County, West Virginia, boasts its fair share of rock formations, but the largest of three small natural bridges there makes for an interesting short hike, says David Sibray, publisher of West Virginia Explorer.

The pay-off of a private trail that follows an old road through the forest the bridge has been attracting a small group of visitors for decades, but never in large numbers.

Weathered naturally from the sandstone strata, the bridge was used as a vehicular bridge by wagons and early automobiles that ascended at disused road from Left Hand, the nearest large community.

Today, a small parking area and a gated trail welcome visitors on Natural Bridge Road.
