Entrance fees at Harpers Ferry to increase January 1

Harpers Ferry National Historical Park will increase its entrance fees in 2019 and 2020 as part of the National Park Service’s efforts to address infrastructure needs and enhance visitor experiences.

Effective January 1, the park’s per-vehicle fee will increase to $15, and its per-person fee will increase to $7, according to Autumn Cook, a park spokesperson.

All money from fees will remain with the service, and at least 80 percent will be retained by the Harpers Ferry park, located in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.

The park will use the funds to repair and maintain facilities, improve amenities, provide additional visitor programs and services, and complete deferred maintenance projects.
